The company was formed as a result of increasing industrial demands for trouble shooting, advisory, testing, monitoring and cathodic protection services. It was also felt that there was scope for a small integrated company which could undertake complex corrosion investigations combined with specialist survey, design, installation and maintenance services.

Dissemination of knowledge on corrosion to create an awareness of the subject within the country is one of the key objectives of the company. It has been estimated that losses from corrosion in Bangladesh could be potentially saved by the application of anti-corrosion techniques. It is a widespread belief that a level of ignorance and misconception about corrosion exists, and is in need of correction not least the widespread impression that its control must always be expensive.
